CHECKLIST FOR GASTROSCOPY AND COLONOSCOPY

Important Questions:

Did you receive the medication for bowel preparation? If not, please call us at: 061 922 06 06.

Did you receive the consent forms? If not, find the forms here and here.
Do you have diabetes, sleep apnea, epilepsy, or are you taking blood thinners or weight-loss medications, e.g., Ozempic®, or do you suffer from constipation? If yes, please call us 5 days before your appointment: 061 922 06 06 or send as an e-mail at info@praxis-steuerwald.ch.

Adjust your diet 2 days before the appointment (see instructions).
Fill out the consent forms (one for the gastroscopy and one for the colonoscopy), answer the questions, and sign them.
Do not smoke for 12 hours before the appointment.
Follow the bowel preparation instructions carefully.

Plan your transportation: Find information about how to get here. You are not allowed to drive a vehicle for 12 hours after the procedure. We recommend using public transportation whenever possible.
Due to space limitations, accompanying persons cannot wait in our practice. We kindly ask that they pick up the patient after the procedure, if necessary. The usual stay in the practice is about one hour and 15 minutes.
Please do not arrive at the practice more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
